Introduction

The Sultanate of Oman is one of the most beautiful, traditionally and culturally rich countries in Southwest Asia and on the Arabian Peninsula. Oman has endeavored to progress in all areas of growth, both economically and industrially over the last few years with immense success. The Caledonian College of Engineering   was established in Oman as the affiliate of the Glasgow Caledonian University, UK.  CCEO is recognized as one of the most successful private colleges in the Sultanate and is internationally reputed for its Engineering discipline. It was made a satellite centre of the UNESCO International Centre for Engineering Education (UICEE). Further, the College has initiated research and development, and established partnership and co-operation with IFEED in the area of Renewable Energy. The College has strength and experience in arranging and hosting both regional and international conferences in the past and we now look forward to organizing this International Conference on Harnessing Technology: Renewable Energy.

Past Conference History

The International Conference on Harnessing Technology 2008 was held between the 12th -13th of October 2008. The International Conference received an overwhelming response and participants included academicians, researchers, industries and other stakeholders to share knowledge and encourage research in developing technology for key issues in energy, environment and natural resources. Furthermore, potential in organizing dedicated Conferences in the area of Renewable Energy with specific focus on Alternative Sources of Energy emerged in this Conference.

    Date & Venue

    The International Conference on Harnessing Technology (ICHT): “Challenges & Opportunities in GCC States – Renewable Energy Resources” will take place in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, over two days from the 13– 14th of February 2011.

    Target Audience

    Energy Company Strategists, Project Developers, Renewable Energy Associations, Building Architects, Engineers, Entrepreneurs, Government and Regulatory Bodies, Environmental Organizations, Energy Technology Innovators, Educationists, researchers and students.
