Conference Objectives

The first session of the Conference will concentrate on strategic level discussion of technology impacts and future challenges that are facing the Gulf region, facilitated by invited speakers of international standing.

Subsequent sessions will be parallel ones, with the theme ‘Energy, Environment & Natural Resources’, derived from the overall focus of Harnessing Technology.

The Conference will then be drawn to a close in a final plenary session, and will disseminate the outcomes and strategic discussion points emerging from the forum to various stake holders.

The International Conference on Harnessing Technology (ICHT) will aim to incorporate the following themes, as outlined:

Energy, Environment & Natural Resources

  • The International Conference on Harnessing Technology (ICHT) will provide a common arena, stimulating international interest concerning global Energy & Resources.  Major issues such as resource depletion may be discussed, and opportunities will be highlighted that arise from such challenges in power generation and transmission in light of the impending development of the GCC countries collaborating to enhance and develop a unified power grid system.

  • As global development progresses and natural energy sources become further scarce, the importance of renewable and alternative energy sources becomes an ever pressing issue.  The Conference will provide an opportunity for focused discussions from professionals in this field, sharing their knowledge of alternative and novel ways of discovering, producing and sustaining these precious commodities by implementing the possible use of solar energy and water management, whilst preserving the ecological balance. It will provide a platform for discussing challenges in producing and using natural resources, particularly Oil & Gas energy, efficiently and effectively.

  • The Environmental and Natural Resources such as water; fuels and other such integral supplies are an area requiring constant development, global attention and supervision.  The ICHT will be an opening for those in this chosen specialization, to come together with new findings and innovative methods of sustaining production, and channeling ideas in further development of our world’s resources.
  • Industry and Technology form the backbone of every country’s economy and its progress. It is important that the core industries that contribute to a country’s economy, adopt state-of-the art technologies in order to harness transcending technology for survival.  The Conference will enable discussion on issues further leading to the adoption of new initiatives in scientific and technological practices in the areas of Energy Conservation, Economics and Strategic Management, whilst addressing regional and national challenges in Energy, Environment and Natural Resources.
